We and They 

Participatory Project, dimension variable, 2016

Starting from the curiosity about how we differentiate ourselves from others, I came across the idea of language use and cognitive mechanisms it reveals. During the time span of four weeks in May 2016, I approached around fifty passersby randomly at public spaces in London, and asked them to write down sentences at the spot — one sentence with the word “we” and one sentence with “they.” The outcome was two notebooks filled with diverse characteristic handwritings.
